Sleep, stress and burnout · Mood and anxiety

“I am tired of being tired.”

Persistent fatigue, insomnia and prolonged stress have identifiable clinical causes. The assessment establishes the cause and the treatment.

How you feel

Sleeping badly, waking without energy, unable to switch off.

When symptoms persist, they may correspond to burnout, depression, anxiety or a sleep disorder.

What may lie behind it

These are different clinical conditions, with different treatments. The diagnosis defines the plan.

Burnout and insomnia are health problems. They can be diagnosed and treated.

When to seek help

When rest is no longer enough.

  • You have been sleeping badly for several weeks, even with time to sleep.
  • You wake up tired, even after sleeping.
  • Holidays or weekends are no longer enough to recover.
  • Impact on work, relationships or family life.

Why a psychiatrist, if my problem is sleep?

Sleep is often affected by mood, anxiety or stress. The psychiatrist identifies the cause and, if necessary, refers you to another specialty.

Will I have to take sleeping medication?

Not necessarily. Medication is one of the options, decided in consultation.

Do I need a referral from my doctor?

No. You can book directly.

Is it confidential?

Yes. Your clinical information belongs to you and we only share it with your authorisation.
